Rod Stringer: Willmott should be playing in Football League
Robbie Willmott should be playing in the Football League, believes Chelmsford City manager Rod Stringer.
The former Cambridge United and Luton Town winger, who played in League Two for two seasons with Newport County, has been instrumental for the Clarets this season as they start 2017 in the Vanarama National League South play-offs, on track for the target of promotion this season.
The 26-year-old, signed in the summer from Bishop’s Stortford, has contributed a whopping 20 assists for City this season, the latest coming in Monday’s 3-1 derby victory over bottom-of-the-table Stortford.
And Clarets boss Stringer believes Willmott has every chance of making it back to the Football League.
