Police at Chelmsford train station

by | Apr 2, 2017 | Essex News

A huge police presence has been spotted outside Chelmsford train station.

Around a dozen officers were seen around the Duke Street site this morning (Friday, March 31) at approximately 10am.

When approached for comment, Essex Police said the officers were there before heading over to Chelmsford Crown Court for the sentencing of a gang facing jail for violent crimes.

Edward Dooley, Kacey Adams and Daniel Wallace face jail over the drive-by shooting of 59-year-old Tony Saunders in Stanford-le-Hope last year.

Mr Saunders, from Stanford-le-Hope, was sitting in his Transit van at traffic lights at the junction of London Road and Stanford Road, yards from his home, when a Mercedes pulled alongside.
