Chelmsford City 2-0 Braintree Town
Chelmsford City made it through to the Essex Senior Cup semi-finals after beating Braintree Town 2-0 at home on Monday.
It was the first competitive meeting between the two teams since the goalless at the Melbourne Community Stadium in February 2011, when Chelmsford City boss Rod Stringer, was Iron manager and later won the Conference South title. The two teams have met in a friendly since, with the Clarets winning that 3-1.
Both teams made changes and Braintree fielded a more youthful XI, while City gave first starts to defender Michael Spillane and striker Philip Roberts.
